To the University of Miami Community,
Over the course of the last year, we have developed together the Roadmap to Our New Century, an ambitious plan to realize our aspirations by the time of the University's centennial. Through conversations, town halls, letters, email messages, and meetings, students, faculty, and staff have helped craft a series of initiatives to chart a bold future for our institution. As I have said in the last months to many of you, I believe it is our responsibility to ensure that the University of Miami is here to celebrate not just its 100th but its 200th anniversary and beyond. To assure that outcome in the current era of change and disruption in education, research, and health care means acting decisively and creatively to envision and build our future. I am very grateful for the remarkable collective effort that has led us to this point.
We are now preparing for implementation of the Roadmap to Our New Century. Following extensive consultations with the University community and constructive discussions with the Board of Trustees and the Faculty Senate, we have identified individuals who will lead action teams in taking each of the initiatives from concept to fruition.
Each Roadmap initiative is unique, and the pace of progress will be varied. There are many questions to be answered and much exciting work ahead. As with any solid implementation process, we will welcome feedback as we move forward. Questions and ideas can continue to be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org or to the Accountable Leads listed below.
We have entered a new stage in the Roadmap, which will require engagement and support from every area of the University community. I look forward to working with all of you as we continue to pursue our greatest ambitions for the University of Miami.
