Dear Colleagues,

After 10 years of distinguished service, Joe Natoli will be stepping down as Senior Vice President for Business and Finance and Chief Financial Officer. He will continue in his role until the first quarter of 2017 and assist with the search for his successor. Afterward, he will continue to advise the University in a consulting capacity.

Joe joined the University after a long and successful career in the newspaper business. During his decade at UM, revenues doubled to more than $2.8 billion, the University's annual economic impact grew to more than $6 billion, and it maintained an A rating despite significant investment in facilities and programmatic growth.

In addition to his responsibilities in business and finance, for much of the last three-and-a-half years, Joe served as interim Chief Operating Officer of the University of Miami Health System, managing the operations of the University of Miami Hospital, the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, and the University of Miami Medical Group.

A comprehensive search for Joe's replacement will begin immediately. As part of the search process, we will seek the input of faculty, staff, trustees, and other members of the University community.

Please join me in thanking Joe for his many years of leadership and dedication to the University and in wishing him the very best in the future.

Sincerely,
